Gloria Ladson-Billings

Ladson-Billings’s research examines the pedagogical practices of teachers who are successful with African American students. She also investigates applications of critical race theory to education. Ladson-Billings is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and president of the National Academy of Education. Honors include the Distinguished Scholar Lifetime Achievement Award from the Literacy Research Association and the Harold Delaney Exemplary Leadership Award from the American Association of Blacks in Higher Education. She will collaborate with faculty and students in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture and the Institute for Teacher Education in the College of Education and Human Development.
